Determination of virulance factor genes in Escherichia coliisolated from women with gestational diabetes and urinarytract infection

One of the most common infections worldwide is urinary tract infections. These infections, which are more common in women than men, cause serious health problems, especially in patients with gestational diabetes. The most frequently isolated bacteria from these infections is E. coli. In this study, which aimed to detect E. coli virulence factor genes in patients with diabetes, urine samples were collected from hospitals in Iraq. A total of 100 samples were taken and patients were divided into subgroups according to age, blood group, and urine analysis results. It has been determined that the disease is more common in women with gestational diabetes, especially between the ages of 30-40, there is a correlation between diabetes and infections caused by E. coli, and diabetes treatment reduces the incidence of urinary tract..
