Özet (EN)

Generally, 3D laser scanners are used to create 3D model file of any object or any environment to help architecture or robot navigation. A 3D model can be generated using one camera and laser light source or stereo camera or a laser distance meter. In this study, Laser scanner hardware has been designed and implemented to create a 3D model in AutoCAD software using a laser range finder. The hardware can generate 3D modeling of environment using the distance measures from different points on spherical coordinate plane. Two axis (φ, θ) movable mechanical parts have been designed and implemented to get distance measurement from different points. Step motor driver has been developed to control the step motors that provide the movement of mechanical parts. Another electronic card has been developed to provide duplex communication between computer and electronic device. A computer software and GUI have been coded that are able to generate modeling using collected data. Approximate modeling of environment can be generated by computer software owing to data that are collected by scanner. These datasets contain necessary distance information to detect borders, barriers or proper ways for a robotic system that roams environment. A laser scanner can obtain information about distance between objects in environment. Some information about environment like slope of ground or object distribution can be analyzed by these datasets
