Thematic assessment of idioms and proverbs which are collected from devrek and its neighbourhood

Proverbs and idioms are stereotypes that convey the knowledge and experience acquired by our ancestors to future generations. In order for a word to be described as a proverb or idiom, it needs to be anonymous, generally accepted by society, and have certain features such as stereotypes. In addition, I t is also important that a word need to be common in order to become a proverb or idiom. However, some proverbs and idioms are identified with the region. Proverbs and idioms that integrate with the culture of the region in which it is located and which have been changed by the local people over the years, can be attributed to that region. In this study, proverbs and idioms used in Devrek district of Zonguldak province were examined. In the study, the proverbs and idioms used in the city center, towns and villages in Devrek district were examined and these proverbs and idioms were grouped by thematic classification.
