An analysis of Turkey-Egypt relations before and after the revolution

There is a cultural and cultural bond between the history of Egypt and Turkey from the last period of the Ottoman Empire to the present day. Among historical educators, relations between Turkey and Egypt have always been uneven. Policies towards the West have been tried to be followed since the foundation of the Turkish Republic and some reform movements are continuing in order to take the West as an example. However, with the adoption of secularism in the country, it moved away from the Middle East countries. Such situations have also been reflected in the narratives with Egypt, causing a coldness between the two countries. Likewise, in the wars between Israel and the Arabs, the Turks have always been on the side of the Arabs. However, such an attitude of the Turks was not welcomed by the Arabs in the same way. Turkey, on the other hand, sought new friends due to the Cyprus problem, but there was no change in relations with the Arabs. Faced with terrorism challenges in the 1990s and 2000s, Turkey took its foreign policy from the West and directed it towards the Middle East. Supporting the revolutionary movements in Egypt in 2011, Turkey received positive reactions from Egypt as a result. Relations between the two countries gained momentum, especially after the Muslim Brotherhood eventually took over the management of the bookstore.
