Özet (EN)
In present day developments in lubrication technologies play a major role in developments of Diesel engines. Major Diesel engine manufacturers who are conscious of this study about the aforesaid subject in their own test and research centers and carry out researches conjointly with well recognized lubricating oil producers, lubricator and ring manufacturers and universities. Therefore while developments in Diesel engine lubrication technologies being examined within last five years, books, catalogues, drawings and brochures have been obtained from major Diesel engine manufacturers. Developments in Diesel engine lubrication technology have been studied herewith under three main headlines which are outlined as friction, wear and lubrication respectively. Lubrication of piston-ring assemblies play a major role in reducing frictional losses in Diesel engines to improve their performance and fuel economy. Therefore total engine frictional torque which comprised especially fription between piston-ring assemblies and other interacting machinery parts are calculated by «Instantenous Frictional Torque Method» which was found within latest years. Apart from the above, piston-ring lubrication regimes are easily ascertained by the same method. Progressive actions took place in improvement of specially liner material and liner surface quality and also surface profile and material of piston ring while fighting with wear on liner and ring surfaces. Additionaly a new system has been developed in order to monitor wear on top piston ring fitted on a big bore-two stroke Diesel engine by the way of last developments in wear measurement technologies on Diesel engines. Wear rate of top piston ring determine the time between overhauls of cylinders. As a result of this maximum time between overhauls and minimum maintanence costs are obtained by the above mentioned system. On the other hand a new system has been developed in order to monitor piston running behaviour. Lubricating oil consumptions are optimized and cylinder overhauls are carried out when required by means of the both systems. Important improvements took place in lubricating oil distribution on liner running surface by multi-level cylinder lubrication system which is used on cylinders as heart of a two stroke Diesel engine. Apart from the above, cylinder lubricating oil pumps are forced by a frequency controlled electromotor in latest cylinder lubrication system. In the system, lubricating oil runs into oil distributors by acumulators and exhaust valve shafts are lubricated by distributors as well. In another lubrication system, compressed air is used for activating lubricating oil pumps. Lubricating oil consumption has been reduced by means of a new system which adjusts extra cylinder lubricating oil process proportional to mean effective pressure of engine. Vlll
