Investigation of physical behaviors and preparation of their copolymers with methylmethacrylate and styrene with diethanol amine side group

In this study, firstly diethanol amine styrene (DEAMSt) monomer was prepared by modifacation of 4-clormethylstyrene with diethanol amine. Then, the copolymers in different combination (11, 19, 30 %) of modificated styrene monomer with methyl methacrylate monomer were prepared by free radical polimerization method at 60oC in presence of 1,4-dioxane and AIBN. The structure of (DEAMSt) and poli(DEAMSt-ko-MMA) copolymers were characterized by FT-IR and 1H-NMR techniques. The glass transition temperature (Tg) was determined by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The thermal behavior of copolymers was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results obtained were compared with each other. The obtained copolymers were investigated properties dye uptake bromine cresol green and alizarin yellow. Then, the electrical behavior of these copolymers was measured with impendance analyzer. The electrical properties like dielectric constant, dielectric loss factor and conductivity of copolymers were investigated as a function of temperature and frequency.The activation energy(Ea) of copolymers was determined from the conductivity measurements
