An investigation into the impact of digital transformation on the core functions of businesses: A study on enterprises in the TRC2 region

This study aims to investigate the impact of digital transformation on the core functions of businesses. Globalization and technological advancements have made digital transformation a necessity for maintaining competitiveness. The adoption of digital technologies is critical for ensuring business sustainability, enhancing operational efficiency and responding swiftly to customer expectations. Accordingly, this study comprehensively examines the digital transformation processes of businesses operating in the TRC2 region and investigates their effects on core business functions. A survey method was employed to assess businesses' levels of adaptation to digital transformation and its impact on their operations. The collected data were statistically analyzed using the latest version of SPSS and the effects on business functions were thoroughly evaluated. The findings reveal that businesses effectively implementing digital transformation strategies accelerate decision-making, optimize costs, reduce operational errors and enhance customer satisfaction. Conversely, those that fail to fully embrace digital transformation risk losing their competitive edge. The results underscore the necessity of effective management of digital transformation. Nonetheless, the findings also indicate that many businesses face barriers such as knowledge gaps and financial constraints. Therefore, this study offers practical recommendations: increasing investments in digital infrastructure, improving employees' digital skills, expanding governmental support, and strengthening cybersecurity. Prioritizing digitalization in strategic planning, adopting sector-specific policies and encouraging academia-public partnerships are also advised. In conclusion, digital transformation has become one of the most decisive factors shaping future business competitiveness. Therefore, businesses must plan and implement digital strategies effectively, invest in relevant technologies and adapt to evolving business dynamics.
