Özet (EN)

With the digitalisation of the global financial system, Digital Financial Literacy (DFL) has become a critical competency for financial inclusion and sustainable development, particularly in developing economies such as Cameroon. This study aims to identify the factors influencing individuals' multidimensional digital financial literacy levels using the example of Cameroon and to fill the existing gap in the literature. A quantitative research method was adopted in the study, and data were collected using a survey technique from 662 participants, consisting of university students and microfinance customers, between December 2024 and February 2025. The data obtained were tested using factor analysis, variance analysis, and multiple regression models using the IBM SPSS statistical programme. Contrary to general expectations in the literature, the findings of the study revealed that socio-demographic variables such as age, gender, education level, income, and occupation were not statistically significant predictors of participants' digital financial literacy levels. The results of the factor analysis confirmed that the concept of DFL cannot be reduced to a single dimension, but rather exhibits a multidimensional and complex structure. In conclusion, this research demonstrates that digital financial literacy in the Cameroonian context cannot be explained solely by demographic characteristics. The findings indicate that policies aimed at increasing financial literacy must go beyond demographic targeting; contextual factors such as technological access, behavioural tendencies, and trust in the system may be more decisive.
