Advancement of digital illustration since 2000 and its plays in print media

The history of the illustration goes back to the cave paintings. Decoration is a communication tool used for purposes such as explanation. For this reason, it is intertwined, both affected and influenced by the society. With the developing technology, the illustration has been involved in the digitalization process and has become an interdisciplinary link. While preserving traditional methods, it has become possible to re-evaluate them in the digital environment. The increase in computer-based programs and the opportunities that these programs provide to art and artists have greatly increased. Depending on developing technology, a rapid speed and convenience has been provided in order to organize the works, to protect them for a longer time and to recreate them. This speed and convenience is of great importance in periodicals. Digital illustration has been playing an important role in broadcast graphics in recent years. The fact that it can be produced quickly and can be quickly transferred to the printing process is one of the factors of this importance. In this thesis, the development of illustration and the developments that lead to the emergence of digital illustration will be examined in which printed publications are used.
