Teachers' views on music teaching supported by digital game soundtracks

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to take the opinions of music teachers about the use of digital game music in the field of music education, to reveal the effects with these opinions, that may be on the music education process, and to gain a different perspective on the awareness, function, importance and possible necessity of digital game soundtracks in the field of music education. The design of the research was designed as a scanning design and used the purposive sampling method. The sample group consisted of 71 music teachers working in 48 schools in Bolu. The quantitative data collection tool developed by the researcher was applied to the teachers who formed the sample as a questionnaire via "Google Forms". The answers given to the questionnaire were grouped and tabulated, and the obtained data were interpreted using percentage-frequency values. Based on the research findings, nearly half of the music teachers in the sample found their knowledge level about digital game music insufficient; It has been concluded that digital game soundtracks can be functional in terms of willingness to participate in the lesson, willingness to learn, learning process and learning level in accordance with the achievements in music education, and that they can be included in the content of the educational programs that can be developed in the future.
