Abstract (EN)

The art of sculpture has undergone great changes in the context of form and content in the 20th century, in modern art and in the postmodern period that followed. Sculpture is a spatial art based on the three-dimensional perception created by the human sense of sight. Since the second half of the century, the use of rapidly developing computer and electronic technologies has increased at a rate that doubles the previous media tools, the internet has been used frequently in daily life in the 1990s, and these developments have also affected art. First, computer art and then digital art emerged as a separate category with their own unique features, and these art fields interacted with other art mediums. Since the sales, exhibition, archiving and conservation activities of digital artworks are different from the traditional, they were distant from the mainstream art world at the beginning, but digital art producers created their own communities and institutions and developed this medium. The development of human-computer interfaces on screens, which are the display interfaces of computers and similar devices, gave these devices a visual structure. Researches on displaying three-dimensional objects in computer graphics and imaging systems that provide three-dimensional spatial perception not only contribute to the design and production of sculpture, but also allow the creation of three-dimensional works of art in spaces created in digital envi-ronments, allowing the art of sculpture, which is seen purely physically, to be produced and presented to the audience only in virtual environments.
