The thesis title is ?The Usege of the Coastal Belt between Dikili-Çandarlı and the Assessment of the Concious of the Usege of Coastal Belt?.Study area covers coastal belt between the west of the mouth of Bakırçay river and Dikili (İzmir-Çanakkale motorway).Geologically, lower-middle miocene piroclastics and lavas and late miocene-pliocene sedimantary association and basaltic lavas represent the coastal zone. Plain surface is represented with alluvians.The most morphologic unit is Karadağ massive in research area. There are low and high shores between Dikili and Çandarlı. Different sizes of beaches were formed in front of this shores.The mediterranean climate rules in research area. Annual mean temperature is 16°C, annual average rainfall is 576 mm and west-southwest side is the dominant direction of wind. Summer drought occurs in the region because of the frontal systems during summer.There are units of zonalsoils such as; chesnut colored soils, red-brown Mediterranian soils, brown forest soils, non-limed brown forest soils, non-limed brown soils. The intrazonal soil groups in the area are; rendzinas, salty and alcali soils, and as azonal soils we can see aluvial and colluvial soils.Although the climax vegetation is red pine (Pinus brutia) in research area, maques and garriques cover the area due to the intense destroy of the pines.Most of the area consists of VI. and VII. class lands. Collivial soils around Bademli and Çandarlı are the I. class lands. Alluvials behind the Bakırçay Delta consist of III. class lands.There isn?t an intense pressure of population on research area yet. The most important economic activities in the region are agriculture and stockbreeding. But there are secondary houses between Çandarlı and Denizköy. There are olive gardens and meadows behind this houses. This olive gardens are continuous until Dikili with interruptions.The coastal areas are ecologically sensitive and accommodate important an important amount of population since in the past. That areas face with various problems because of thecompetition of differentland uses. There are whether national laws or international agreem There are national a regulations and international agreements on coats.Our study area isn't exposed to an intensive usage yet. But at this stage, the potential of the area should be brought out and the most efficient usage for the area should be planned.The education and raising the consciousness of the people is important in terms of preserving the environment and the coasts which are a part of it.Thus there are important responsibilities for people as the user of the environment. Besides, the people themselves are going to be the inspectors and reactors of the principle of public welfare related with the coasts.
