Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to provide doctors with additional information in detecting the disease by investigating the volumetric changes in the brain in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) with a non-invasive and radiation-free method using MRI. In this study, some brain regions such as the hippocampus, corpus callosum, prefrontal cortex and cerebellum were drawn and volumetric measurements were made. MRI-derived volume measurement of other important brain regions, especially the hippocampus, is a proven method with diagnostic value that is also used in determining the cause and course of neuropsychiatric diseases. It is therefore an indispensable technique and further studies are needed to focus research on unraveling the mechanisms of volume loss observed in such diseases. Brain MRI images of healthy and 4 subtypes of ADHD patients were examined and statistically significant volume reductions due to the disease were observed. In this study, open source MR data sets were used and image analyzes will be performed through programs such as AFNI and FSL.
