Acquiring entrepreneurship skills through activities within the scope of Religious Culture and Ethical Knowledge course

The "Initiative and Entrepreneurship" competence, one of the eight competencies of the Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge Curriculum, does not include any learning area or achievement that encompasses this competence, despite the program's goal of ensuring that students become individuals who have acquired basic level skills and competencies in specific disciplines within the framework of Turkey's Qualifications. The "Initiative and Entrepreneurship" competence includes knowledge and skills such as translating thoughts into action, creativity, innovation and risk-taking, planning to achieve goals, project management, seizing business opportunities, engaging in social in social and commercial activities contributing effectively, and being aware of ethical values. It has been observed that there are no learning areas and achievement within the curriculum that include the aforementioned knowledge and skills related to this competence. This situation has been evaluated as a deficiency in terms of the program's goal and perspective. Accordingly, learning areas and achievements have been identified from the 5th, 6th and 7th grade levels within the curriculum to achieve the initiative and entrepreneurship competence though interdisciplinary methods and to impart entrepreneurship skills though activity implementations. In line with the research objective, five activities have been designed for each stage within the framework of entrepreneurship education's five categories: business idea, financing, product design and production, promotion and marketing, investment and sustainability and their implementation has been carried out. Data before and after the activities were recorded using observation and interview methods to produce the findings of the research. The discussion, conclusion and recommendations section of the research have been shaped accordingly.
