A research concerning the qualifications expected from the teachers of religious culture and moral knowledge course in the context of new teacher training model

In this study, the competencies expected from the teachers of religious culture and moral knowledge were investigated in the context of 'new teacher training model'. In order to determine those competencies, the data collection tool developed by the researcher was prepared in two parts. In the first part of the data collection tool, 10 questions aimed at determining the personal qualities of the teachers participated in the questionnaire were prepared. In the second part of the data collection tool, for the sub-problems of the research, the question of ''what are the professional competences for a teacher of religious culture and moral knowledge course according to you? Write from 1 to 10 according to the level of their importance'' was asked. The expected areas of competence for teachers of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge was determined within the framework of this question according to the variables. RCMK teachers, other teachers except for RCMK teachers and school administrators in primary schools in the province of Rize constitute the population of the study. The sample of the study constitutes of 262 teachers selected by the researcher and who worked in the primary schools in Rize province in 2010-2011 academic year. However, teachers taking part in the sample constitute of RCMK teachers, other teachers except from RMCK teachers and school administrators from chosen schools. For the statistical analysis, the relationship between personal variables and questions related to sub-problem was evaluated by using SPSS with Chi-square (X2) test.
