Examining the job satisfaction and professional burnout levels of religious culture and moral knowledge teachers

SUMMARY INVESTIGATION OF JOB SATISFACTION AND BURNOUT LEVELS OF RELIGIOUS CULTURE AND MORAL KNOWLEDGE TEACHERS (ANTALYA PROVINCE EXAMPLE) The purpose of this research is to investigate the level of job satisfaction and burnout of the Religious culture and ethics teachers working in schools and whether these situations differ in terms of various variables and whether they affect each other. Quantitative research method and relational survey model were used in the research. Ethics committee approval and official research permission document were obtained from Antalya Directorate of National Education in order to carry out the research. In the context of the purpose of the research, "Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale" and "Maslach Burnout Scale" questionnaires were applied to 287 Religious Culture and Ethics teachers working in schools in Antalya province, in two different environments, online and face-to-face. Smirnov/ShapiroWilks, kurtosis and skewness coefficients and kurtosis-skewness Z values, t test, analysis of variance, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis H test were used. According to the findings of the research, it was seen that the subscale averages of religious culture and ethics teachers' inner satisfaction, external satisfaction, and decrease in personal achievement were at a moderate level, while the averages of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization sub-scales and the Maslach burnout scale general average were below the medium level. It was observed that the general scale scores of religious culture and ethics teachers' external satisfaction, job satisfaction, emotional exhaustion, decreased personal achievement, depersonalization and burnout did not differ significantly according to gender, marital status and weekly working time.However, it is seen that there is a significant difference in the burnout general scale averages of the religious culture and ethics teachers according to the level of the institution they work in, they differ in terms of extrinsic satisfaction subscale scores according to the place of residence, and there is a differentiation in terms of decrease in personal achievement subscale scores according to the department they graduated from. It has been observed that the external satisfaction subscale scores, job satisfaction general scale scores, emotional exhaustion scale scores, burnout general scale scores and inner satisfaction subscale scores of the teachers of knowledge and education according to the working year differ. correct relationships were determined.
