Classroom management efficacies of teachers of religion culture and ethics knowledge based on their self-perceptions (in Konak district in İzmir)

The basic aim of this study is to specify which level of efficacy in classroom management the Religion Culture and Ethics Knowledge Teachers have in Konak district in zmir. The first stage of the study aims at developing a classroom management efficacy questionnaire for the teachers. The development of such a scale needs some statistical operations for its validity and reliability. These statistical operations related to the validity and reliability have been used in the development of questionnaire. The population in this study has been selected from the district Konak, including 156 Religion Culture and Ethics Knowledge Teachers. The efficacy level of the teachers in terms of classroom management has been described as frequency and percentage distribution for their views concerning each one statement in the study. Also, t-Test and one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) have been applied to find out if there is a significant difference in the thougths of the Teachers of Religion Culture and Ethics Knowledge to some established variables. In line with the findings, It has been achieved that Religion Culture and Ethics Knowledge Teachers have perceived themselves very highly efficacious in their class management skills. It has also been established that efficacies of the Teachers of Religion Culture and Ethics Knowledge are very different according to gender and in favor of female teachers; but that there is generally no any significant difference in their sub-dimension scores and total scores among teachers in terms of their seniority, graduation, department, school position in work. It is expected that the findings of the study will contribute to enhance the level of classroom management efficacy of the Teachers of Religion Culture and Ethics Knowledge.
