Abstract (EN)

IV ABSTRACT Master Thesis A NEW CONTROL SYSTEM DESING FOR DYNAMOMETERS Ayhan ALTINÖRS Fırat University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Electrical Education 2001, Page: 46 Dynamometers are the electrical load machines which are used to test the electrical motors and engines. In this thesis, two main approaches to the control of the dynamometers have been analysed in details. The first approach is the Classical Inverse Model approach in which the shaft speed is measured and used to derive the reference torque for the dynamometers. The discrete time implementation of the Inverse Model approach has been analysed and it has been shown that this method has the stability and noise problems. The second approach analysed in the thesis is the Model Referance Speed Tracking (MRST) method which is developed to overcome the problems of the inverse model approach. Finally, a new dynamometer control structure is proposed to decrease the noise on the torque demand of the dynamometers. The proposed method and MRST method have been simulated in parallel and the simulation results showing the effectiveness of the proposed method have been presented.
