Özet (EN)

The biological approach is one of the kinds of approach in psychology. The psychology of religion which examines the religious behaviours is a discipline utilizing the same of approach and research methods in the psychology. Human body interacts with all kinds of religious behaviours, emotions and excitements. This study investigates the relationship between religious practices and biological functions. In this context, first of all, the notions about the subject, and the historical process of soul-body relationship which is at the basis of religion-biology relation are tried to be explained. Then understandings of soul in the religions of primitive tribes and soul-body relationship between the holy religions and philosophical thought are analyzed. n this study again, physiological structure of human, brain and nerve system, function of religious emotions in an ongoing course of understanding the world biological effects of especially such religious practices us reciting God?s Name, meditation, fasting, seclusion; and religious psycho-pathology is examined. In the last chapter, contribution of G. S. Hall?s to psychology are explained. As a matter of fact, religious practices affect our biological structure and vice versa. We note as a conclusion that well informed and conscious man/religious, plays an important role in a healty interaction between religious practics and biological structure.
