Disability in the context of religius socialization and social exclusion (The case of Bingöl)

Disability is the main topic of the study and it is a multidimensional and global phenomena. Therefore, it is related to many scientific fields and disciplines. Also this phenomena is accepted as one of important massive problems in the world and this problem is estimated to expand. In this study the ais is to determine how disabled people experience religious socialization process, the fields that they are exposed to social exclusion, this exlusion's dimensions, from the point of view of disabled people's own lives and experiences. Also it is aimed to increase social sensitivity and level of awareness to disability, to contribute to the production of social policies that lead to integration of disabled people with society by gained scientific information. This is a descriptive qualitative study and based on phenomenological model. It is tried to understand how disabled people ascribe meaning to and interpret their life with phenomelogical model. Sample of the study is orthopedic, visual and hearing impaired disabled people living in Bingöl Municipality district. The study was conducted with thirty disabled people who were selected with purposively sample technique. In the study semi structured forms and in-depth interview technique were used. In the result of the study it was found that disabled people experience exclusion in many areas. In the first place of these areas that they are excluded are engaging in social life, educational, social and cultural actviies, accessibility and religious services. Therefore, disabled people can not utilize humanie and social rights, become unfamiliar to society and themselves and they are prevented from being a respectful individual of society and living a normal life.
