Using twitter as a digital communication tool in diplomacy (A Comparative Study between the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs)

With the flourishing of modern technological development and its integration with all life activities and requirements, the diplomatic stream, like other life activities, began to merge with social media and modern technological tools. This transformation was the cause of the emergence of new terms such as the term digital diplomacy. Not only that, digital diplomacy has become a weapon through which electronic attacks are launched between the conflicting state, but it is the platform through which the views and positions of countries on any issue can be understood. This study, entitled: Using Twitter as a Tool for Digital Communication (a comparative study between the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs), sheds light on the importance of the position occupied by Twitter in the process of diplomatic communication. To understand this importance, this study focused on knowing how each of the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs use Twitter in managing their diplomatic activities. In this study, I analyzed all the tweets published by both the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1/1/2023-1/2/2023. In order to reach the objectives of this study, data were collected and analyzed using an encryption key consisting of nine categories, and then the data was entered into the SPSS program to reach academically approved numerical results. The results of this study showed that both the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs use Twitter effectively in the communication and diplomatic process.
