Abstract (EN)
In this study, classical orthogonal polinomials and orthogonal polinomials of a discrete variable are investigated. Thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the introduction. In the second chapter, preliminaries and relations of between difference operator and differential used in the other chapters are given. In the third chapter, Rodrigues formula, orthogonality and norm properties of classical orthogonal polinomials and orthogonal polinomials of a discrete variable generally are derived. In the last chapter, application to third chapter, some properties of Hermite, Laguerre, Jacobi, Hahn, Charlier, Kravchuk, Meixner polinomials are dealt with.Key Words : Gamma function, Pochammer symbol, Rodrigues formula, orthogonality, difference operator.
