Thesis)Ertan YEKSANGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYSeptember 2006ABSTRACTIn this study, a prototype furnace for the production of disodiumtetraborate is designed and manufactured at Eti Mine Works KırkaBorax Managing Administration. In addition, a new developed productprocessing unit based on the method of powder atomization isdesigned and manufactured. After manufacturing works, a set ofexperiments is performed and disodium tetraborate is produced. As aresult, disodium tetraborate (Na2B4 O7) is obtained including thefollowing constituents as mass percentages; % 68,24 B2 O3 and % 30,38Na2O.
