Iranian elements in divans

Iran has always been important for Turkey. The long-standing relationship between the two countries has caused the countries to be influenced by each other in many ways. This interaction in cultural, mythological and especially literary terms has led to the mention of elements related to Iran in written sources. Elements related to Iranian literature, one of the building blocks of divan literature, have been included in most literary texts on various occasions. In divan poetry, poets were influenced by important poets, writers and personalities of Iran; the works of these people; mythological heroes etc. and processed these features in their poems with the help of literary arts. In our thesis study, an effort was made to reveal the place, usage patterns and characteristics of Iranian elements in divan poetry with the help of sample couplets/ verses selected from divans of the 14th-19th centuries. In addition, elements related to Iranian literature, geography and mythology were included and elements related to these were identified and evaluated. It has been examined how the characteristics of Iran are handled in divan poetry. The place of Iran and Iranian literature in divan poetry; who the Iranian poets, writers and historical-legendary figures are; in what ways they were influenced by Seh-name, one of their most important works; how geography and mythology were handled by divan poets, etc. It has been tried to provide detailed information by using examples. The study is text-centered and has been carried out based on the selected sample couplets/ verses. Keywords: Divan poetry, Iran, Iranian literature, Seh-name.
