Arabic proverbs and its counters at Divanu Lugati't-Turk a comparative study

Proverbs are data of great importance in understanding the culture of a society and thus being aware of the richness of the language. Kashgarli Mahmud, who revealed the cultural and linguistic richness of Turkish with his work Dîvânu Luġâti't-Türk, is an important example for us in the context of proverbs. In the first and second chapters of the study on the similarities and comparison of proverbs in Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk and Arabic proverbs, the concepts of proverb and mesel are discussed, brief definitions are made, general characteristics of proverbs are mentioned, brief information about Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk and Kashgarlı Mahmud is given. In the third part, the proverbs in Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk, which were transferred from Karakhanid Turkish to Arabic, were transferred to the study in Turkish and Arabic. Then, the translations of all these proverbs into Arabic are analysed under the basic translation types of formal, dynamic and equivalent translation, and contemporary Turkish proverbs and Arabic "mesels" that can correspond to these proverbs in equivalent or close meaning are included.
