Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted on pregnant women aged between 18 and 40 who applied to the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Training and Research Hospital between 1 July 2021 and 1 October 2021. The study group consisted of pregnant women with diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, and the control group of healthy volunteer pregnant women. A total of 150 participanys, 50 for each of the three groups, were included in the study. The patients were informed about the content of the study before participating in the study, and a written consent was obtained. Orbital and lens circumference measurements are associated with gestational age. Orbital and lens measurements can also help detect fetal ocular abnormalities and may provide valuable data to the literature by the addition of inflammatory parameters measurements. Binocular diameter, interocular diameter, axial orbital length, horizontal lens, vertical lens, lens axial length values were increased in all 3 treatment groups (normal pregnant n=50, hypothyroid pregnant n=50, diabetic pregnant n=50) after the second measurements compared to initial values. An increase was observed in the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio, eosinophil/lymphocyte ratio in the last measurement compared to the first measurement in normal pregnant women, a decrease was observed in diabetic and hypothyroidic pregnants, a decrease was observed in the eosinophil / lymphocyte ratio in the last measurement compared to the first measurement in normal and diabetic pregnants, while an increase was observed in hypothyroidic pregnants. Keywords: fetal orbit, fetal lens, neutrophil lymphocyte ratio, diabetes, hypothyroidism.
