The contributions of female authors to Islamic law in the Diyanet İlmi Dergi (2003-2023)

In the activities of the Department of Periodicals and Libraries a subunit under the General Directorate of Religious Publications affiliated with the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Presidency of Religious Affairs, various publishing activities are carried out. One of thepublications among these activities is the Diyanet İlmi Dergi which serves as the focus of this research.In the articles written by lady authors in Diyanet İlmi Dergi, Islamic law(al-fiqh) dataexamines. The study focuses on all issues published between 2003 and 2023. The research aims to determine the distribution of articles containing fiqh data written by lady authors, assess how much space is given to these articles, and contribute to the literature. A review of the literature revealed that there have been no studies specifically on Diyanet İlmi Dergi. Considering the gap in this fieldemphasizes the importance of the study. In the researchwere usedincluding document and content analysis of the qualitative research methods. The issues from the years included in the scope of the study were identified, focusing on the fiqh writings of lady authors and then the article contents were analyzed. The articles were evaluated from various perspectives to the relevant discipline. The evaluations were categorized into four sections reported accordingly. The articles included in the research were analyzed, and quantitative data were obtained for the categories they were placed into. Thirteen articles directly related to fiqh topics were written. Ten articles indirectly dealt with fiqh issues either as part of their content or as sub-sections.Moreover, a significant portion of the topics addressed by female authors focused on issues specific to women, various fiqh rulings and perspectives on topics that reflect on women. In some issues, no female authors were found who discussed Islamic law data, while in other issues, there were no female authors at all.
