In this study, these physical deteriorations in the traditionalhouses at Diyarbakır have been investigated in detail. Structures of the houseshave been changed to satisfy the changed social life. Moreover, they still areinadequate to respond daily requirements. So, they were divided and sold orrent. A questionnaire and conservations were conducted with the user todetermine their social conditions.Space syntax technique, a morphological analysis method, was used in the studyin order to analyze and evaluate daily usage of the traditional Diyarbakırhouses. Comparisons of traditional and daily usages were also made andnecessary recommendations were represented.In the 1st chapter, definition of the problem was made; aim, scope and methodwere presented. In the 2nd chapter, the concept of the space and home werementioned. In the 3rd. chapter, the method of the study was given in details. Inthe 4th chapter, general information about the city of Diyarbakır andviiarchitectural characteristics of traditional houses were given. In the 5th chapter,a questionnaire was conducted with the user to determine their social andeconomical conditions. And also physical changes on houses were determined.In the 6th chapter, the space syntax analysis method was applied on Diyarbakırtraditional houses on both traditional and current usage.
