A research on determination of yield-releated traits of some red lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) cultivars and lines in Diyarbakır conditions

This research, aiming at determining important vegetable and agricultural characteristics of cultivars/lines of wintery red lentil corresponding to Southeastern Anatolia, was carried out for a year three times according to design of casual blocks under the arid land conditions with 20 genotypes of lentil in the cultivation year of 2005. Some important vegetable and agricultural characteristics have been established at the raised lines. F 95-29 L, F 96-17 L and F 98-2 L lines, sharing first sequences and having higher grain yield, have been established as hopeful under Diyarbakır conditions, though grain yield referred at cultivars and lines vary between 214.61-345.00 per kg in this research. According to examined inter characteristics correlations, there has been important and positive correlations between grain yield and 1000 grain weight; on the other hand, there has been important but negative relations with the number of main branches.
