In this thesis study, experimental and numerical investigation of the effects of combustion and emission characteristics of pyrolytic oil obtained from waste vehicle tires on diesel engines is discussed and implemented in practice. Experimental studies were carried out on a multijet diesel engine with 4 cylinders, 4 timings and a volume of 1.9 liters. In experimental studies, mixture fuels were used as fuel that pure diesel (100% diesel), B10 (90% diesel + 10% gasoline), B20 (80% diesel + 20% gasoline), B30 (70% diesel + 30% + 10% pyrolytic oil), P20 (80% diesel + 20% pyrolytic oil) and P30 (70% diesel + 30% pyrolytic oil). Experimental studies were carried out in two stages. The engine performance and emission values were analyzed at varying engine load ratios at constant engine speeds of 2000 rpm in the first stage and at varying engine speeds at 0% and 25% constant load in the second stage. Numerical studies were carried out in the virtual environment by defining pure diesel, B10, B20 and B30 fuel mixtures in the engine performance and emission analysis program called AVL FIRE. When the test results are examined, the engine performance and combustion characteristics pyrolytic oil of addition up to 30% at the standard diesel fuel can not be significantly influenced that without any changes in the engine fuel system. In addition, positive changes in some emission values and negative changes in others have been observed. It has been understood that the pyrolytic fuel added to the diesel fuel retarded the cylinder pressure and heat output. As a result, it can be seen that waste tire oil can be successfully used in a standard diesel engine in existing experimental studies.
