Abstract (EN)
Information, communication and surveillance technologies which developed rapidly in 21st century has a various layered impact on societies with the help of the Big Data. Network Society and Internet has made this impact more visible and strong with the increase in usage of social media. Social Score first appeared in China then spread Venezuela and other countries, is a system that applied as officially, unofficially and cryptic levels. Considering a forementioned developments, one can define social score practice as goverments scoring their citizens in series of topics such as security cameras, online shopping, law and rules or social media interactions, activities and sharings. As a requirement of Social Score, a social score is developed for citizens in the light of the data that collected and stored about them. Through this scores citizens receive various types and shapes of rewards and penalties. Social Score increases the surveillance of individuals and societies, decreases individual rights and freedoms, weakens the public sphere and civil society. By the end of the year 2020, this fairly new practice will involve 1,5 million people around the world. Therefore by the aspect of the future, social score practice will bring a lot of changes along for the whole humanity. This practice which evocatives various different span of dystopia, imprisons individuals and societies in some kind of outdoor prison. This papers aim is to define this practice and its implementation and shed light of the future affects of it. Also a critical reading applied on this practice with concepts and platform such as social media, internet, media, surveillance etc. Keywords: Social Score, Social Media, Surveillance, Dystopia.
