Abstract (EN)
In this study, the phenomenon of transience in Nature Art, which was born in South Korea in the 1980s with the influence of Land Art, Earthworks, Environmental Art, Earth Art and Ecological Art that emerged in the West in the 1960s, was studied. Nature Art application works produced in nature were presented in a solo exhibition. In the literature review, few Turkish sources directly related to Nature Art were found. Although there are artists working in this field in the world and in our country in this field, it has been determined that there are deficiencies in regard to theory. With this study, it is aimed to present an original content by recording the data resulting from the analyses covering the research and practices in the context of Nature Art and the Phenomenon of Transience. The focus of the study is "The Phenomenon of Transience in Nature Art" that emerged in the East after 1980. In order to understand the Nature Art movement, which embraces the Eastern principles, the approach of the artists to nature in the history of Eastern art has been researched. It has been found that the artists who adopt the Eastern understanding see themselves as a part of nature and they are one with nature, against the approach of the artists who adopt the Western understanding to dominate nature. It has been determined that this is the most fundamental difference in the perception of the West and the East in their approach to art and nature. In this context, it has been determined that while the Western understanding aims at permanence and immortality by commodifying the work of art, in Nature Art born from the Eastern understanding, transience is emphasized with the acceptance of mortality and what is taken from nature is given back to nature.
