Abstract (EN)

The main objectives of this study are to synthesize new Thermoluminescence (TL) dosimeter materials based on calcium borate (CaB2O4) obtained from Eti Mining Operations General Directorate, using solid-state synthesis method, to provide their structural characterization by XRD and SEM, and to investigate their dosimetric properties and sensitivity in detail. In order to increase the TL signal of undoped CaB2O4, the material was synthesized by doping in single combinations using high purity Mn, B, Cu, Ag, Ga metal group ions and Ce, Eu, Tb, Dy and Gd lanthanide group ions. The synthesized materials were sintered for 8 hours at 800 oC for crystal formation. The dosimetric properties of CaB2O4:Cu(%0,01), CaB2O4:Cu(%0,1), CaB2O4:Cu(%0,3), CaB2O4:Cu(%0,5), CaB2O4:Cu(%0,7), CaB2O4:Cu(%1), CaB2O4:Cu(%2), CaB2O4:Cu(%3), CaB2O4:Cu(%4), CaB2O4:Cu(%5), CaB2O4:Cu(%7), CaB2O4:Cu(%10) the materials were investigated as TL dosimeters in terms of the TL signal it was recorded per unit dose after various dopant concentrations. Preheating temperature and time parameters of CaB2O4:Cu(%1) material were determined. The optimum temperature and time were determined as 150 oC, 5 s. The reusability of CaB2O4:Cu(1%) was studied up to 9 experimental cycles after delivery of 0.5 Gy test dose. Beta dose response experiment of CaB2O4:Cu(%1) material was studied. The fading measurements of CaB2O4:Cu(%1) material in dark environment were investigated.
