Abstract (EN)

Natural spring waters are formed as a result of the continuity of geological processes in the world. Natural spring waters emerge spontaneously or with some technical methods. By dissolving many rocks while advancing in the geological layer; calcium, magnesium, fluoride, bicarbonate, etc. they include the compounds. Natural spring waters are generally offered for sale in packages such as plastic, polycarbonate and glass. In this thesis, hardness, conductivity and suspended solid (SS) removal in a natural spring water in Edremit district of Balıkesir city were investigated. Natural springwater; flow rate balancing and chlorination tank, sand and granulated activated carbon tank cartridge filtration and reverse osmosis membrane filtration units. Physical, chemical and biological analyzes were made on the samples taken from the outlets of these units and the results obtained were discussed. As a result, it was seen that the removals in the hardness, conductivity and SS parameters were 100%, 90,4% and 100%, respectively. The production cost of the units' effluent is 0,968 €/m3.
