Isolation of mycorrhizae of Taurus cedar (Cedrus libani A. Rich) on natural population and their growth and using seedling propagation

This study was carried out to determine the effect of mycorrhizal inoculationon the cedar seedling growth, development and nutrient uptake. Under thegreenhouse conditions, the effect of two different inoculation treatments (ones inseed sowing and in transplanting) of three natural isolated mycorrhiza species underthe forestry conditions (Lactarius delicious, Hebeloma crustuliniforme, Tricholomaustale) have been examined under sterilized and non sterilized three different growthmediums. At the end of the vegetation period, the development parameters of theseedlings, nutrient contents of the shoot and root infection were investigated.Compared to the other two mycorrhiza species, seedlings were inoculatedwith H.crustuliniforme, especially in transplanting stages of inoculation, havesignificant effect on growth parameters and nutrient contents of the seedlings. In bothinoculation stages compared to non sterilized medium, seedling growth inoculatedwith Lactarius delicious and Hebeloma crustuliniforme increased seedling growthand nutrient content.In addition Mycorrhizal Inoculation Effect (MIE) values of the seedlingswere enough and morphological characteristics and nutrient concentrations of theseedlings positively affected by inoculation with H.crustuliniforme and L.delicious.Finally, although the effect of mycorrhizal inoculation on the plantdevelopment parameters and nutrient contents were evaluated, but the rootinoculation percentages were not detected as expected.
