Investigation the use of natural stones based on their technical properties and finding their application parameters

In this study, natural stones that are used as exterior finishing and covering are defined based on their classification of uses, hardness and formation. By using physical, chemical, technological and commercial product properties of these stones and with their standard features desired, tests are constructed for their applications.The tests for natural stones that are planned to be used as exterior design covered size, assembly type , embedment, filler paste, blocking water entrance, as well as, building movements, natural stone weight, wind force, seismic force and atmosferic effects.The uses of these natural stones as composite material are determined by comparing their physical and mechanical properties with the related standards.The aim of this study was to develope a system that would help to find the best uses of these natural stones in buildings and as a composite material, i.e., exterior finishing. Furthermore, the environmental effects of these finished products made especially from hard and dense stones were also evaluated in terms of their radon and other radioactive emissions.
