Abstract (EN)
Individuals suffering from shortage of time due to busy working life, need leisure activities where they will have the opportunity to relax, except for holidays that they can only perform several times a year. The decrease in green areas, the increase in reinforced concrete structures, difficulties in transportation, crowds and air pollution due to urbanization causes people to move away from city life and go to nature. Therefore, research and understanding of issues related to nature-based recreation activities are important for the welfare of society and the individual. In this study, it is aimed to explain the motivations that lead individuals to nature-based recreation activities and to measure the effects of these motivations on subjective well-being of individuals. Within the scope of this study, data were collected with a questionnaire technique from individuals who participated in cycling activity, which were evaluated in nature-based recreations in Eskişehir. In the light of the findings of the study, significant relationships were found regarding the effect of motivation to participate in nature-based recreation activity on subjective well-being. In addition, there were significant differences between the demographic characteristics and motivation dimensions of the people who participated in nature-based recreation activities. In addition, significant differences have emerged between the demographic characteristics and motivation dimensions of the people who participated in nature-based recreation activities. At this point, some suggestions were presented both to the individuals participating in the recreation activity and to the recreation activity planners.
