Prof. Dr. Ayşe EVERESTIn this study, changings depending on time of C, N, P, and K contents of leaf,branch, litter and soil, C and N mineralization, humic and fulvic acid contents of thesoil of Olea europaea L., Pinus brutia Ten. and Pistacia terebinthus subsp.palaestina L. growing up on soils derived from two different parent materials (marland conglomerate) in the eastern Mediterranean region, Turkey were investigatedcomparatively. The parent material, plant and time factors and their interactions wereanalysed statistically (TUKEY, P<0.05) and only the soil nitrogen interaction wasfound significant among the parameters measured. When nutrient contents of leaf,branch, litter, and soil compared with differences of parent material in the same timeperiod, there was no significant difference for Olea. But there were significantdifferences for C contents of litter of Pinus (March 2000), N (June 2000), P(September 1999), and K (September 1999 and 2000) contents of leaf and P contents(March 2000) of branch and C (September 1999 and 2000) and N (September 1999,March 2000, and September 2000) contents of soil of Pistacia. Firstly, all of thesedifferences are related to different plant species are also related to have differentvegetation periods, metabolic functions, and ecological demands of plants. While theratios of C mineralization and FA/OM (Fulvic Acid/Organic Matter) of soils wereonly significant for Pinus with respect to parent material differences, it was observedthat this difference was not characteristic for the other plants.Key Words: Macronutrients, Marl, Conglomerate, Microbial Activity, HuminMatters
