Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study, biological and molecular detection of WMV-2 growing watermelon in fields between 2010 and 2012.Collected samples that suspicious infected virus of plants were firstly tested with ELISA and infection ratio was determined as 46.7 % WMV-2. Positive one of them was coded and used for mechanical inoculation. The study of mechanical inoculation WMV-2 infected indicator plants to the expected presence of symptoms was observed.Total RNA extraction was done from WMV-2 infected test plants and used for RT-PCR method. DNA bands were observed in respected sizes after the PCR products were tested in agarose gel electrophoresis.
