Determination and investigation Turkey over the Eastern Mediterranean energy resources towards pipeline route

The fact that Turkey is in an important geopolitical position in the process of transferring Eastern Mediterranean energy resources supports the country's position in an economically strong position. In the study, which was started to determine the potential energy reserves that Turkey has access to in the eastern Mediterranean, the potential of renewable energy sources such as geothermal, wind, wave, solar, biomass and ocean-thermal energy conversion and their suitability for use were evaluated. Then, investigations were made from the formation to the potential of hydrocarbon reserves, which are conventional energy sources; It has been tried to determine the amount of gas hydrates, oil and natural gas in the region. In the light of the known and expected reserves in the Eastern Mediterranean, natural gas has been evaluated by taking into account the resources in the region. As a result of the examination and evaluation of the pipe transportation lines in Turkey, which is a junction between Europe and Asia in natural gas transportation, researches were carried out to transport the natural gas that may come out of the Eastern Mediterranean in a way that can be connected with the lines that are still in practice. In the pipeline project, which was prepared considering the Mavi Vatan lines; Eastern Mediterranean energy resources, performance and possibilities of Turkish ports, all aspects of the route have been discussed. Mersin port has been determined as the connection point of the pipeline to the Turkish mainland. Other natural gas transportation lines operating around the world, security practices that are important for the sustainability of the pipeline, other pipeline projects created in the past in the Eastern Mediterranean and offshore platforms, and environmental assessments of the pipeline were examined and included in the evaluation. In the last part, the possible design of the pipeline and its related technical details are presented and finally its evaluation is made.
