The examination of anger and expression styles of provincial directorate of youth services and sprots coaches in Eastern Anatolia Region in Turkey

This study aims to study the anger of trainers working at Eastern Anatolia Region Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports and the way they express their anger in terms of some demographic characteristics. Population of the study consists of 38 female (24.2%) and 119 male (75.8%) trainers working at Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports in Ağrı, Ardahan, Bitlis, Bingöl, Elazığ, Erzincan, Erzurum, Hakkari, Iğdır, Kars, Malatya, Muş, Tunceli, Van. For the results of the study, "Personal Information Form" which was developed by Spielberg (1983) and of which reliability and validity were made by Ozer (1994) and which consist of 34 questions Likert type scale was used to obtain demographic information. Number, percentage, mean, standard deviation were used as descriptive statistical methods in the evaluation of the data. The Pearson Correlation coefficient has been estimated, The Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare quantitative continuous data between two independent groups, and the Kruskall Whallis test was used to compare quantitative continuous data among more than two independent groups. Mann-Whitney U test was used as a complement to determine the differences after the Kruskal Wallis test. The obtained findings were statistically tested with significance at p <0.05 level. As a result, it was determined that the anger levels of the trainers did not change in terms of variables such as age, gender, age, gender, marital status, branch, coaching years, education status. However, significant results were obtained according to the variables of the trainees' average anger scores (Mann Whitney U = 1 814.00, p = 0.012 <0.05). It was founded that those who live in cities have a higher anger level than those living in metropolises. The study emphasizes that the anger brought by the competition which inevitably increases in daily life should be controlled without being an aggression and expressed in a proper way.
