II ABSTRACT Master Thesis An Investigation on the Effect of PKÇ/B 32.5 R Cement Produced in East and Southeast Anatolia Region on the Corrosion of Reinforced Concrete Structures Oğuzhan KELEŞTEMUR Fırat University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Construction Education 2002, page; 102 The corrosion rate of steel in the concrete structures has been determined on the concrete samples for various concentrations of chlorine ion and minimum boundary values of chlorine ions stimulated the corrosion rate have been established by many researchers. However, in this study, the corrosion rate due to dissimilarity of oxide concentrations has been studied for PKÇ/B 32,5 R cement which has been taken from five various foctories. 3% NaCl which is base for seawater was added into the solution water of the concrete steel for the sake of creating corrosive environment and then tests have been carried out. The mixture rate of concrete samples has been prepared according to TS 802 and the same type and same amount of material have been used for the samples. The samples were prepared as five groups and the unique difference between them was various oxide components existing in PKÇ/B 32.5 types cement depending on various producing center. In this study, in the first step, the changes in the electrot potential versus time for the concrete samples were determined for 90 days by taking measurement every day and using Cu/CuSCU reference electrot. In the second step of the study, the corrosion rate of electrots has been determined separately by applying galvanostatic method to the concrete samples and the effect of various oxide compositions in the cement on the corrosion rate has been interpreted.
