Verbs in early Quran translations from Eastern Turkish

Religion brings about its own culture. Religion not only influences the spiritual world but also influences and enriches the language, culture and literature of its believers. After Turks adopted Islam, in order merge into the Islamic culture circles, they translated Quran into Turkish. From the early translations in Eastern Turkish, TIEM 73, Manchester Rylands, Hekimoglu and Uzbekstan copies are available. TIEM 73, Rylands, Hekimoglu and Uzbekstan, as in the early translations of Quran to Persian, are translations between the lines. As one to one translations from Arabic, these translations are generally in disagreement with Turkish syntax. Notwithstanding, while coping with the challenge of passing on the religious terminology into Turkish, the early translations enriched the language by introducing an array of unwitnessed new vocabulary into Turkish language. This study, scrutinizing the morphology of formation and conjugation of verbs, endeavors to prove that the aforementioned works are not only valuable from a vocabulary and lexicography perspective but also precious for Turkish grammatical studies. Specifically, information revealed with regards to the morphology of conjugation, paves the way to reassessment of the various information sources for Karakhanid and Khwarazm Turkish time period.
