East Turkish Tezkire-i Seyyid Âfâk Hâcem [ 22b-42a]

In this study, it is aimed to introduce Tezkire-i Seyyid Âfâk Hâcem, a biography of Seyyid Afak who is significiant in East Turkestan area with its religious and political identity, to the scientific world. This text is not only a biography, but also illuminates the political, historical and social life of the Hodja Period. It is not clear who wrote the text. The name of the text has never been mentioned before. The main benefit of this study is to gain the text which is called Tezkire-i Seyyid Âfâk Hâcem to Turkish Language and Literature. As a result of the research conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Turgut BERBERCAN at Uppsala University in Sweden, the Lund Library Manuscript Library was found in the Jarring collection. In this thesis, 22 leaves of the text which consists of 60 leaves were examined. This text which is called Tezkire-i Seyyid Âfâk Hâcem, has been translated into latin alphabet from Arabic letters in accordance with the principles of transcription. The alphabetically prepared index with its meanings in turkısh has been shedded light on the vocabulary of the period.
