Abstract (EN)
Objective: This study was conducted to examine the effect of oxytocin induction at birth on postpartum mother-infant attachment and anxiety level. Materials and Methods: The research was conducted in analytical and case-control type. Women who received oxytocin induction at birth constitute the case group and those who did not constitute the control group. Between January 2020 and May 2021, Dr. The study was conducted with 416 women hospitalized in the Postpartum Service of Ali Kemal Belviranlı Gynecology and Pediatrics Hospital. Research data were collected with the "Personal Information Form", "Mother-Infant Attachment Scale" and "State-Trait Anxiety Scale". Data were evaluated with descriptive statistics, t-test and pearson correlation analysis. Results: In the study, the mean scores of the mother-infant attachment scale (14.28±1.73) and state anxiety inventory (31.71±7.82) of the case group were compared to the women in the control group (mother-infant attachment scale: 12.91 ±2.25, state anxiety inventory: 28.56±6.91 ) was found to be statistically significantly higher. In addition, the women in the case and control groups; A statistically negative moderate relationship was found between mother-infant attachment levels, trait anxiety levels and state anxiety levels. Conclusion: In this study, it was observed that women who were administered oxytocin induction at birth had lower levels of mother-infant attachment and higher levels of state anxiety than women who did not. In addition, in the study, it was concluded that as the anxiety levels of women increased in both groups, their mother-infant attachment levels decreased.
