The validity and reliability study of the Turkish version of thethe attitudes toward fertility and childbearing scale (afcs)

Aim: In this study, the validity and reliability study of the Turkish version of scale Attitudes Toward Fertility And Childbearing Scale (AFCS) developed by Söderberg and his colleagues in in 2015 was aimed. Materials and Methods: The sample of the methodological study consisted of 240 woman who were not mothers yet in the 20-3 age group Manisa. All data were collected by the researcher using the individual identification form, Attitudes Toward Fertility And Childbearing Scale (AFCS). In the evaluation of the data, number percent distributions of the introductory information, language validty(Confirmatory and Explanatory Factor Analysis), standard error, cronbach's Alpha coefficient, item total score correlation and scale response bias tests were used. Findings: The scale was divided into three sub-dimensions, explaining that the total variance was found to be %65,10. The Coronbach Alpha coefficients of the scale are; the first factor' current obstracle' alpha=0,89, the second factor ' importance in the future' Alpha=0,92 and the third factor' famele identity' alpha=0,90. As a result of item analysis, item sub-dimensions score correlations of the items were found between 0,60-0,82 in the 'current obstracle' sub-dimension and 0,75-0,85, in the 'future importance' sub-dimencion and 0,78-0,90 in the sub-dimencion of famele identity. Compliance indices of scale confirmatory factor analysis were examined and it was observed that x2/df, CFI, NFI, NNFI indices met acceptable values and RMSEA, GFI and AGFI indices didn't meet acceptable values. Result: Turkish version of Attitudes Toward Fertility And Childbearing Scale was found to be on acceptable and reliable valid. Key Words: Fertility, Attitudes, Validity, Reliability.
