Abstract (EN)
Quality improvement activities should be carried out at many points, in order to meet the demands of the customers and compete with the competitors in today's market conditions. The casting process is one of the real practical problem that can be improved. During this study, experimental design methodology and statistical data analysis methods were used to decrease shrinkage defects at a casting part called cover, which is produced with the sand molding casting method. The factors that could effect the shrinkage problem were defined and experiments were done. Results showed that all defined factors are effecting the shrinkage defect ratio of this part.
