The investigation about the texture possibilities of waste plastic bags in woven design

In our day, humanity are faced with the plastic bag wastes due to industrial and economic practices which are widespread throughout last century and increasing population. Because of these bags are being produced cheaply and freely, unconsciously using of these bags that surround the living space, affecting environment and human health negatively with existing chemicals in its structure are increasing each passing day. Also, due to there is no recycling obligation for the plastic bags and for considering as a waste, not packaging waste, mostly recycling for the plastic bags are not being carried out. Whereas, today's environmental conditions are made obliged to recycling for sustainable living. According to from cradle to cradle (C2C) understanding, with upcycling it is possible turn the existing waste into the maximum value products. This research about waste plastic bags' texture possibilities on weaving design is a study which recycling waste plastic bags via texture and asses within texture concept. Goal; as a sustainable alternative method, recycling plastic bags via waste texture design and using the texture product, in this respect, in the implementation process experimental texture study has been done with plastic bags on traditional vertical weaving loom after literature search and those which have high texture effect has been selected and then they were wove as oversize. Weaving design is both a composition that are used together such as form, color, texture, material… etc. factors and in the meantime a resource to create awareness. Texture concept which is one of the basic elements for design associated with texture directly. Even if the eye is closed, the objects can be discerned with touch by means of texture and so it can able affect a person both as sensorial and emotional. In this respect, in the practice that is carried out wire number for lurnish with the warp has been extracted and has been used plastic bags that are cut densely shaped like strips so that plastic bag texture is at the forefront. Plastic bag has been partly manipulated with the materials such as paper and copper wire and has been enriched visually. At the same time searching for texture possibilities of the waste plastic bags is important in terms of both weaving design and indoor. Textural studies obtained will be used both functional and with aesthetics aims in the places such as cafe, restaurant…etc. On the other hand, decrease pollution causing the bags in a certain extent depends on emerging new ideas, society and individuals.
