Abstract (EN)

Foundry sand is mainly used in large quantities in many industries, especially in the automotive industry, iron and steel industry, alloying and metallurgical industries. The waste foundry sand formed after casting is considered to be a waste material. Waste foundry sands, which have been growing at an ever increasing rate, are creating waste stacks or occupying a large part of the storage areas and are also an additional cost to the foundry industry. Today, the threat created by the growth and development of the industry, the threat posed by nature is increasing day by day, and therefore a suitable area and method for the use of waste sands are sought. In this study, by adding the sewage sludge obtained from Karaman Municipal Treatment Plant in certain ratios to the waste foundry sand sourced from two different foundries. In the light of the results obtained, it has been evaluated whether there is any environmental risk along with the risk potentials of a recovery method for waste foundry sands and sewage sludge's which have become the major problem of today. Keywords: Waste foundry sand, reuse, sewage sludge.
