Abstract (EN)

The effect of infilled panels on the response of reinforced concrete frames subjected to seismic action is widely recognised by many researchers and has been carried subject of numerous experimental and analytical investigations. Current codes do not have an adequate guidance for treating the modeling, analysis and design of infilled structures. In this study, the effect of infill walls on structural behavior is investigated. In this study, the behaviour of reinforced concrete frame structures with and without infill walls under in plane loads are analyzed. In these investigations, various types of equivalent diagonal strut modelings and a precised finite-element micromodel by considering contact interface conditions between the frame and the infill is used. One, three and five equivalent diagonal struts modelings which represens the infilled frame structure is used. On the other hand, the finite element micromodel by considering contact interface conditions is introduced. The optimum number of division which is required for analysis sensitivity for the model with finite elements is tried to be determined. After determining the required mesh density for finite element model, incremental nonlinear static pushover analysis has been carried out for both the models with finite elements and equivalent struts. The lateral load capacities of the frame are investigated due to dead, live and earthquake loads. The capacity curves, storey displacements, plastic rotations are obtained for the planar frames having one story ? one bay, one story ? two bays, two storeys ? two bays and five storeys ? three bays and compared for each of models. The lateral load capacities of brick infilled frames and without infilled frames are compared. Keywords: Infilled framed structures, equivalent diagonal compression strut, pushover analysis
